The brilliant orange sun is just beginning to rise far out to the east. It appears as if it is rising up out of the ocean preparing to cast its earliest rays on the coastal town of Angrecca. The smell of salt is in the air and a cool breeze ripples through town. The town seems quiet except down by the docks. The earliest ships are beginning to arrive, and the dockhands are already unloading the first of the day’s cargo. You are an able body of adventurers that have come together by the summoning of the town’s mayor. Two of you, Hogar-Hul and Leoneiros, arrived by ship just two days ago, and were contacted by a courier yesterday afternoon offering payment to anyone willing to do a dangerous job for the mayor. He instructed you to meet at the town hall early the next morning.
Malkamus, you have been in the town about a week since you left Vandromar. You have found the townspeople here much more accommodating and friendly than the hardened people of the city you grew up in. You saw a posted sign at one of the local taverns and have responded to its petition to be at the town hall this morning.
It is in front of the town hall that we find ourselves. In addition to you three, you are in the presence of a scraggly looking human couple. He is a small balding man hunched over, and his wife is the mirror image of him in female form. Sitting on a bench sits a tall human man with a black riding cloak and boots, his hair is slicked back and he has closely trimmed facial hair, and smiles at you as you arrive. A half-elf man is reading a book near the doors to the town hall, and occasionally is mumbling to himself. Before any of you are able to make introductions to one another, a tall skinny human unlocks the front doors of the hall and beckons you inside. “Please, Please come in,” he says in a hurried voice, “The Mayor is expecting you. Have a seat and I will inform him you have arrived.” He then nods to the others present and tells them they can have a seat inside and the Mayor will be with them shortly after he sees you three. After ascending several stairs you enter the waiting room for the town hall. The Human man disappears around the left side of a hallway. As you come to a halt in the brightly lit room, you are able to see each other clearly for the first time. While some of you recognize one another, none of you expected to find yourselves in this company this early in the morning.
(OOC: You are now free to respond however.)

*takes a seat* *looks at Hogar* Didn't you come in on a ship a couple of days ago, I was on that ship and you aren't exactly hard to miss. I'm Leoneiros. *Turns and nods to Malkamus*

Looks like it will just be us three on the mayors... quest. It has me wondering just how dangerous this will be.

Tall gaunt human, dressed in leather armor, a black travelling cloak, high leather boots and a wide brimmed hat, sitting casually with his hands behind his head. Those skilled in Arcane might notice the strange symbols adorning his gloves.
*nods back to Leoneiros*"
"I wouldn't expect too much of a challenge, the people of this...village seem somewhat helpless to me. The mayor probably needs his wine cellar cleared of rats. I expect we'll collect our gold and be back at the tavern by nightfall."

(OCC: oh yeah, I should be a little more descriptive)
Hogar-Hul is an aged Half-Orc, Bald with thick wirey white mutton chops. The skin that is exposed is covered in scars from burns. He wears scale mail that is littered with runes that have been etched into the metal. Anyone trained in religion would know they are from the domain of creation. He wears a necklace with the symbol of Moradin, and had one oversived hammer attatched to his back, and two smaller well-balanced hammers that hang from his belt on either side of his hips. The lumbering half-orc looks in the direction of Malkamus.
Angrecca is home! IT is not hopeless. Mayor nice guy and probably really need help.
Hogar grabs one of the hammers from his belt and holds it up into the air
Hogar-Hul with defend Angrecca with the help of Moradin!

Leoneiros is your average looking Eladrin tall, slender, light complexion. How ever unlike the other Eladrin his silvery hair is short and pulled back into a stubby ponytail. He wears leather armor stamped with intricate Eladrin designs and across his chest are 4 daggers and a short sword is sheathed on his side. * Leoneiros laughs* Well if things get hairy I'm glad your on my side. *Leoneiros looks at the cloaked stranger* I doubt the mayor hired us to clear a few rats. *Leoneiros looks back at Hogar* I have a feeling we are going to need your hammers and your... Moradin.

*holds his hands out in the* Easy Master Orc, I meant no offense. Only the kind people here seem incapable of fighting their own battles, but all the better for us. I'll gladly take the gold from their mayor, kind or otherwise.

During this time the small couple stand in the corner whispering to themselves. Occasionally you catch them staring at you three dialogue but they quickly avert their gaze when any of you look in their direction. The half elf man is still entrenched in his book and he paces farther away from the rest of you. The man wearing the dark cloak and bearded face leans against the wall in a corner of the room and surveys everyone else present with an amused sort of smile on his face. The sound of footsteps reverberates down the hall as it sounds like the Mayors secretary is returning.

The tall human man enters the room and sits behind his desk in the corner, quickly followed by an average size human man who is dressed much more formally than anyone in the room. He has slightly grey hair sparsely covering his head, and seems average in size other than his slightly growing gut. He is wearing thin, brown dress boots and they echo as he confidently strides across the room towards you three holding out his hand to Leoneiros as you are the closet one to him.
"Welcome, gentlemen! And thank you for responding so quickly. I am Mayor Reckland. We are incredibly grateful that you have come to our town, I have been very anxious in waiting for you to arrive. Please, follow me."
He leads you down the left corridor of the hallway, and through a doorway at the end that leads into a spacious office. A wooden desk is centered in the far side of the room, and a few couches are places sporadically against the walls. The walls are decorated with various paintings and sculptures, and the drapes are partially drawn to let the first of the mornings light spray into the room and onto the carpet rug covering most of the floor. The Mayor motions for you to sit down and he takes a seat behind his desk.
"Again, I thank you for coming on such short notice, but our town is in dire need of your help. But before I get into that, please forgive my manners...Do tell me your names?"
As he looks each one of you in the eye, he recognizes the half-orc and in a startled voice says, "Oh yes! Forgive me for not recognizing you at first Hogar-hul! I have had a lot on my mind. It is good to see you here!"

"It's quite alright Hogar-Hul. You see, our situation is dire... For about a week now a band of Kobolds have been attacking our nightly shipments from here to Vandromar. We've tried everything. We've tried sending as much as we can through the day, but I just can't spare the extra wagons. I sent guards a few nights ago and they were all slain. I can't spare any more men.
The Kobolds send their ambush near the same area on the road every night, about 4 miles out of town. I believe they are living in a cave that is off the road to the southwest about a mile beyond the attack site. Please clear them out for me, and bring me their leader's head and I will pay you handsomely. If you want to know a little more, there was a man named Bhenn Lennock, runs the port operations here in Angrecca, he lives down in a cabin near the water's edge. He escaped an attack a few nights ago and returned injured."

This sounds serious and dangerous, really dangerous. Exactly how much are you paying us to put our lives on the line to do what others have died trying to do.

uh, yes... Hogar-Hul need money
*he holds out his coin purse, revealing nothing in it. He attempts the friendliest smile possible, with bottom two teeth jutting out.*
I spent all on hammers, and armor! and backpack with things inside. Can Hogar-Hul have some money now?
